Thousands of women across the world have been transformed by his artistic touch and inspired vision. His clientele spans the world of international jet setters, Hollywood personalities, models, legendary stars and women and men from every walk of life. He is the architect of the world’s most acclaimed hairstyles. He is the master craftsman of flair, style and class. He is José Eber.

Born in Nice, France, José Eber began his career as a hairstyle apprentice at a Paris salon at the age of 15. By then, Jose was already an expert at recognizing beauty. After perfecting his techniques in Paris, José traveled to the United States where he fell in love with Los Angeles. In 1975, he made the City of Angels his home. He was only 25 at the time and had nothing more than a few dollars in his pocket and confidence in his abilities. Working in Beverly Hills, Jose himself was propelled into stardom once word spread that he was the one who fashioned the styles of Hollywood royalty.

From the beginning of his career, José has set the trend by providing cuts and colors that few can duplicate. He fashioned the most influential looks of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s; something no other stylist has ever accomplished. To the very present, José remains among the most celebrated of names in hair and beauty. His sexy, elegant, carefree look is still the style of choice for today’s women on the go.

The French-born master stylist and his artistic team are known for creating a look from which a woman’s inner beauty can emerge. “Respect your individuality and be yourself. Don’t try to be someone else,” José explains. “There is beauty in every woman, and it’s up to me to bring it out. I change their lives; it’s amazing the power of styling and expressing hair.” At the heart of José’s artistic approach is a consultation to determine how much of a change clients are willing to make given their self-perception, physical attributes and lifestyle. Next, he creates a cut that flatters the feel and shape of a client’s face while colorists blend a palette that compliments skin tone or brightens existing color. Finally, clients are educated in the tools and techniques so they can maintain their look between visits.

Now an internationally recognized icon, José has appeared on major news networks including CNBC and CNN. He has also made guest appearances on “Entertainment Tonight,” HBO’s “Entourage,” ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today Show.”  With two books on hair care and styling titled: “Shake Your Head, Darling” and “Beyond Hair, The Ultimate Makeover Book,” best-selling author is another one of his many achievements.

Out of the salon, José Eber is an advocate for numerous charities dedicated to the well-being of women. He was one of the first to join the fight against domestic violence on behalf of the Sojourn Organization, “ Women who are abused usually have little or no self-esteem,” says José,” Because my career has been about helping women raise their self-esteem, this fight became very important to me.”

José also supports The Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow (FIT), a non-profit organization that helps unemployed or underemployed women obtain employment skills  and job placement, and educates them on how to look and dress for a successful interview.
